Modernization of the Communication Infrastructure for Ministry of Defense (CIE I & CIE II)

 

 

 

  • Challenges

The project consisted in network installation throughout the following locations: headquarter of the Ministry of Defence, the Terrestrial Forces, Air Forces, Navy Forces.


  • Objectives 

 

The 4 infrastructures have over 2600 work places, each of them consisting of 2 CAT 5E (RJ45) plug and an optic fibre (SC duplrx) plug.


  • Solution

 

The network active equipment has been installed on CAT 5E cupriferous infrastructure in order to allow the operation of over 60% of the workplaces. Also, it has been delivered and installed CISCO switches for the campus, bulding and floors, and CISCO routers, which interconnect the 4 campus through MAPN own communication chanels.
At the operation centers of the network (NOC) it has been supplied and installed the hardware components and the system software, which provides the services of network acces and management (users and resources) and also the email services based on Microsoft and HP technologies.
Romsys has supplied and installed 275 workstations for the network users.


  • Benefits & Results

Each infrastructure consists of 2 parallel and separated structured cabling: a cupriferous CAT 5E cabling and an optic fibre cabling. Each of them has optic fibre backbones. The infrastructure cabling is structured on buildings, floors and floor areas. At campus level, the whole cabling has a central node (NOC).
