Modernization of the Emergency Medical Services in order to improve the quality of medical services, reduce the expenses, and optimise the entire dispatch activity.

 

  • Objectives 

Creation of an integrated high technology-based system to control, track and optimize the Emergency Medical Services information flows of information and related work processes.

Dispatching activities within Emergency Medical Services, 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

 

  • Solution

The core of the system is a Computer-Aided Dispatch System, designed to speed up emergency calls collection and subsequent resources allocation and dispatching, while increasing accuracy and efficiency.

 

The system is based  on an original expert-system for medical diagnosis and resource scheduling, using a shell designed for medical applications. Presently, the system is permanently maintained and  extended.



  • Benefits & Results
The system is fully operational since 1996, 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. Due to a Real-time tracking system, the entire activity can be monitored on-line, on a single display. The Supervisor can, at any time. Identify the status of resources, ( the ambulance teams, operative staff ) and the progress made for each intervention.

Depending on certain criteria, the system can optimize the ambulance route scheduling, taking into consideration the traffic bottlenecks or inaccessible roads,and also maximise the emergency team competency.

Starting with 2004 has began the integration with the 112 system, respectively CvoordCom Ericsson product. Data and message exchange between the 2 systems is carried out through XMLs.

The REMSSy system also provides a Reports module. This allows, through statistical analysis, the evaluation of the real needs in equipment and resources, ie ambulances, medical equipment, maintenance, teams training, etc.
